Stay Focused While Growing Your Network

The problem...

You're invisible.

People don't even know they should look for you.

Have you ever felt this way?

If so, I hear you and know the feeling. It doesn't feel positive or productive. How might you move past this?

I fall back on two questions when I need to reassess my efforts. They are:

Who's it for?

And

What's it for?

The first question makes me identify who I'm talking to. The second question makes me decide on a path and stick to it.

I ask myself these questions often. They've helped me in countless ways.

Recently, another pair of questions has helped me out. They are featured in This is Strategy. These questions are "Who is your Circle of Us?" and "Who is your Circle of Now?"

The first question prompts me to think about the people in my immediate circle.

The second question prompts me to consider my "now" (i.e., my effort, partners, relationships). What does my "now" look like today, and what might it look like in the future?

Why does knowing my "now" matter?

It matters because the longer it exists, the longer I have to create the change I hope to make.

Knowing the generous work you do, I was wondering ...

Who is in your Circle of Us?

How big is your Circle of Now?
