In addition to writing books, Janice tells “stories of the wild” through reading stories about wildlife so children can learn about individual creatures and life lessons. She shares with listeners two examples of such stories:
I Wish I Were a Butterfly by James Howe. This book teaches children to feel good about their own gifts and talents.
The Elephant’s Child by Robert James. This book teaches children it is okay to be curious and take risks.
