Kathleen Garness is a freelance scientific illustrator and a scientific affiliate at The Field Museum whose area of focus is plant conservation.

When I interviewed Kathleen many years ago, she was busy monitoring populations of rare species. She was also in the early stages of creating a guide to common plant families of the Chicago region.
